Solution Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT) concentrates on finding solutions for current presenting problems and exploring future goals to use as a guide for quicker resolutions of problems.
SFBT works by identifying and clarifying our goals, and working towards identifying solutions to problems which in turn allows us to achieve those goals.
Ideally, with the help of a therapist, an individual learns how to focus on what they can do, as opposed to what they can’t do, or how things went wrong previously. This means that solutions can be identified and assessed more quickly, which creates faster positive change.
