Dr James Warn

Qualifications: James is a general psychologist and holds an endorsement in Organisational Psychology with the Psychology Board of Australia. He has been awarded a PhD, BA(HONS), and Grad Dip Mgt and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and a Fellow of the College of Organisational Psychologists. James is also, SIRA approved for CTP & Workcover

Experience: James is experienced with working with people in workplace and organisational settings. James has experience working with adults across the lifespan with a range of emotional, behavioural and adjustment problems, such as anxiety and depression. He understands the challenges people can face as they transition through different life stages and changes in their lives. James is also experienced in coaching clients to reach important goals and conned more fully with important values in their lives. James has conducted and published research on stress in the workplace, workplace engagement, and leadership behaviours for building better functioning workplaces.

Approach: James provides a warm, considerate and supportive counselling approach with a focus on empowering the client to function better in his or her everyday life. He draws on cognitive behavioural techniques (CBT) as well as an orientation to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to adapt counselling to the individual’s situation. James has an interest in coaching psychology and working with individuals to develop problem solving to deal with immediate challenges and to achieve a more meaningful life in balance with their values and opportunities.
