Women's Issues

If you are concerned about yourself, your daughter, wife or girlfriend you can take steps to get support.

Some issues such as breast and ovarian cancer, ovarian cysts, anorexia, bulimia and post partum depression only affect women, or affect women at much higher rates than men. Many women ignore symptoms and suffer in silence under the misconception that what they’re going through is normal.

How can psychology and counselling help?

It can be difficult to know what to say when a woman you love has just been diagnosed with a serious medical problem. She may be in a state of shock, denial or even embarrassment. The most important thing you can do is ask her if you can assist her with her journey to better health.

If you are a woman, sometimes talking in a private and non-judgemental space can help relieve your symptoms, give you confidence, and provide you with strategies to cope in everyday life.
