Heerthika Kulasingam

Qualifications: Heerthi is a Clinical Psychologist, having completed Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Clinical Psychology. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and an associate member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).

Experience: Heerthi has worked in case management with asylum seekers. As a psychologist, she worked within the employment services sector to provide solutions focused interventions for jobseekers. She has experience providing group therapy as well as interventions for individuals. She has worked in acute mental health care within the public sector to provide crisis management and short-term interventions. She has experience working with individuals with depression, anxiety, stress, and those with difficulties with emotional regulation. Heerthi has experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.

Approach: Heerthi uses mainly a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) approach and draws on concepts of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) as needed. She focuses on providing a safe space for clients to talk through their difficulties and to work collaboratively with clients to work towards achieving their treatment goals.
