We all experience life events in different ways. If recent changes in health, eating habits, sleep, work, relationships and finances are affecting you more than they normally would, you may be experiencing undue stress.

What causes stress?

Stress can be caused by anything from returning to full time work to financial pressures, unemployment, work stress, lower education, social isolation, conflict, personal/family illness and relationship problems.

What are the symptoms?

Common symptoms include:

  • Sleep disturbances
  • Muscle tension
  • Irritability
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Tiredness
  • Lack of motivation
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Change in eating habits
  • Increased use of alcohol or other drugs
  • Unhealthy eating and decreased level of exercise

How to book a session

To be eligible for the Medicare rebate, you will need to have a referral from a GP. Simply visit your GP, tell them how you are feeling, and ask about a Mental Health Care Plan and referral for Good Thinking Clinical Psychology.

You can also see one of our psychologists without a referral, but unfortunately you cannot claim the Medicare rebate. For more information about our session prices, see rates and rebates.
