Psychologist

Michaela (she/her) is a registered psychologist and supervisor with AHPRA, and a member of APS, she has extensive experience working in clinical, community and leadership within mental health. She has a particular interest in trauma, complex trauma, anxiety, panic and identity. Michaela has a strong focus on building a relationship with her clients, creating a safe therapeutic space, working collaboratively, and empowering them to make change in their lives.

Biography

Michaela is a compassionate and dedicated psychologist coming into her tenth year of practice. With a wealth of experience working across diverse age groups, cultures, and sexual orientations. Her therapeutic approach is characterised by warmth, care, and a strong focus on building meaningful connections with her client. Michaela integrates a holistic psychological approach, exploring the relationship between mind, body and recognising the importance of understanding biology neurobiology, sleep, nutrition, relationships, work, movements and spirituality on mental health. Her relaxed yet focused approach empowers clients to explore concerns, gain insights, and develop skills to achieve their goals. Michaela has a particular interest in working with trauma, complex trauma, anxiety, panic, identity and sense of self. Her background includes working in a variety of roles, including crisis support, case management, private psychological practice, as site clinical lead of a multidisciplinary youth mental health team, providing clinical supervision and she continues to contribute to mental health education and advocacy through talks, writings, workshops, community networking and events.
